Each flavor of Brick House highlights its own unique oil used as its starting ingredient, but the selection standards for the quality of oil that we use are applied to each vinaigrette.

The Sunny Honey Balsamic vinaigrette features cold press processed Non GMO Sunflower Oil from the Boyer Family Farm in Converse Indiana.  The Boyer family’s Hoosier Healthy Oils are grown and processed right on the family farm using a cold press process that retains the valuable antioxidants found naturally in the oil- Vitamin E and Omegas

The Creamy Garlic Herb vinaigrette features Non GMO Grape Seed Oil which is also a heart healthy oil rich in Vitamin E and Omega 3 & 6. 


The Raspberry Champagne vinaigrette utilizes a special blend of two heart-healthy oils: Flax Seed Oil and Sunflower Oil. The combination of these two oils produces a blend that is loaded with Vitamin E and has a perfect balance of Omega 3, 6, & 9.

What are GMOs?
GMOs (or genetically modified organisms) are organisms that have been created through the gene-splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE).  This relatively new science allows DNA from one species to be injected into another species in a laboratory, creating combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.

Are GMOs safe?
In 30 other countries around the world, including Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production of GMOs, because they are not considered proven safe. In the U.S. on the other hand, the FDA approved commercial production of GMOs based on studies conducted by the companies who created them and profit from their sale. Many health-conscious shoppers find the lack of rigorous, independent, scientific examination on the impact of consuming GM foods to be cause for concern.

Hexane or Solvent Extraction is the most widely used method for vegetable oil extraction in the western world. Soybean and Canola Seed are the most commonly used. For more information on this, research “Hexane” and the process of “Solvent Extraction.” Expeller Pressed is a mechanical extraction process of which Soybean and Canola seed are heated and the oil is then mechanically pressed out.
